We’ve Made it Easier to Comment

One of our goals at Riverdaler is to create a space for people to come together and discuss issues in our neighbourhood. We use a commenting system called Disqus which is used on many popular websites including Torontoist and The National Post . Disqus offers a lot of great features including the ability to vote on comments you like, and excellent spam filtering.

To add a comment on any story just enter your comment in the box, and if you have a disqus account you can sign in. Once you have done the one time process of signing up for Disqus, logging in is easy! If you’ve linked your Disqus account with Facebook, Google, or Twitter then all you have to do is press the corresponding button. No need to remember your Disqus password. Having a Disqus account has some advantages like allowing you to have a profile picture and to see all of your commenting history across any site that uses Disqus.

Now you can post without signing up for Disqus!

Previously we only allowed people with Disqus accounts to comment to try and minimize spam. We’ve realized that not everyone wants to sign up for another account so we have enabled the guest option. To comment as a guest just enter your name and your email, and select the “I’d rather post as a guest” option. Then press the submit button and you’re done!

We hope this encourages more people to get talking in the comments section! Let us know if there is anything else we can do to improve this site for you!
